School Sports

Our School Sports were held on Friday 28th May and the weather held out!  There was a mixture of events depicting run, jump, throw from athletics.  All pupils participated in seven different events throughout the morning, with great excitement and enjoyment.  There were many medal winners on the day and all pupils were winners for their participation and endurance. The Primary 7 Sports Championship came to its conclusion with the distance race and overall winners received their trophies for outstanding performances in multi-disciplinary athletics.  Our congratulations go to both Emily Gray and Craig Sneddon for their success.

2010 turned out to be another successful year in achievement terms.  Emily Gray won “Gold” in the Javelin event and Claudia Smith got “Bronze” in the long jump.  The girls’ relay team got 3rd place – “Bronze medals” – missing out on first by 0.9 of a second!  The School team also came 3rd overall.

All pupils were a credit to the school in terms of their performance and their behaviour.

P.6 Cricket

On Friday 4th of June three cricket teams of Primary 6 pupils travelled to New Williamfield to participate in a Stirling Schools Tournament.  They all did very well with their batting and bowling and had a wonderful experience.  Thanks to Ms Cullen and parent volunteers for assisting with supervision and for their support.

Fun in Athletics Forth Valley Final

On the 25th of April the 18 chosen primary fives went to The Peak to compete against five other schools from around central Scotland. We were all chosen to do different athletic events. Girls competed against other girls, boys competed against boys from other primary schools.

Everyone tried their best but there could only be one winner. In the end the Active Stirling helpers told us who won. It was victory for Bridge of Allan, we won! We were so surprised and the teachers were very pleased. We couldn’t believe that we had won the whole competition.  We managed to get into the newspaper. In assembly the 18 pupils came up in front of the school and got given our certificates and medals.

Seventeen girls from the Primary Six classes took part and practised every Monday after-school in order for the dance to be the best it could be!

Our theme was the 80’s!

Aerobics Day

On Thursday 29th October the Health and Wellbeing Group helped organize a day of aerobic exercise led by students from Stirling University.

Fiona, Kerry, Andrea and Ross led each session which was based round music from all over the world, and every class from the Nursery to P7 took part.

Everyone was asked to bring a donation and we raised a total of £327.67!  This money will support school health initiatives and Cal Lomax's fundraising efforts on behalf of Rory Macrae who will soon undergo a kidney transplant.
